Pixelands is a shared world. Everything you see was put there by another player, and the economy only works because people can trust each other enough to trade. These rules exist to keep that true.
They apply everywhere in the game: chat, world names, signs, builds, guild names, usernames and trades.
The rules
1. Treat people like people
- No harassment, bullying, stalking, or targeted pile-ons.
- No hate speech or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- No threats of violence against anyone, in or out of the game.
- No sexual harassment, and no sexual content or advances of any kind directed at anyone.
2. Keep it appropriate for a 12+ audience
- No sexual or pornographic content — written, built, or drawn.
- No graphic violence or gore.
- No content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- No promotion of illegal drugs, weapons sales, gambling, or terrorism.
- No hate symbols, extremist imagery, or builds recreating atrocities.
3. Protect children
Zero tolerance, no appeal. Any sexualisation of a minor, any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes, and any sexual content involving characters presented as children results in an immediate permanent ban and, where applicable, a report to law enforcement. There is no warning and no appeal for this.
If you see this, report it in game and email pixelandsgame@gmail.com with "URGENT" in the subject.
4. Do not scam
- No fake trades, fake "drop games", fake giveaways, or trust-trading schemes.
- No impersonating staff, moderators, or other players — including similar usernames and copied profiles.
- No phishing: never ask another player for their password, and never enter yours anywhere except the official login screen.
- No "I will pay you outside the game" arrangements. See rule 6.
A trade you agreed to and regret is not a scam, and we will not reverse it. A trade obtained through deception, impersonation or a bug is, and we will.
5. Do not cheat
- No modified clients, bots, macros, auto-clickers, packet or memory editors.
- No duping, item generation, or abusing bugs for gain. Report bugs instead — we treat honest reporters well and exploiters badly.
- No multiple accounts used to funnel items, farm rewards, or manipulate the market.
- No evading a mute or ban with another account, IP, or device.
6. No real-money trading
Buying or selling accounts, items, worlds or currency for real money outside our official purchase system is banned. It is also how almost every player who loses everything loses it — there is no protection, no recourse, and we cannot help you recover from it.
7. Keep personal information out of it
- Do not share anyone's real name, address, school, workplace, phone number or photos — including your own.
- No doxxing, and no threatening to dox.
- Do not ask other players for personal information, especially if they might be younger than you.
8. Do not spam or advertise
- No flooding chat, repeating messages, or macro-spamming trade offers.
- No advertising other games, servers, shops, or unrelated Discord servers.
- No link shorteners or links to malware, phishing pages, or cheat tools.
How moderation works
We use three layers, because no single one is enough on its own:
| Layer | What it does |
|---|---|
| Automatic filtering | Chat, world names and signs pass through a profanity and content filter before other players see them. |
| Player reporting and blocking | Any player can report another from inside the game, and block them instantly without waiting for us. |
| Human review | Moderators review reports against chat records and server-side action logs, and decide the outcome. |
Our moderation decisions are based on server-side records of what actually happened, not on who complained loudest. Because the server is authoritative, we can usually see the truth of a trade or a build directly.
How to report someone
-
Tap or click the player
Then choose Report from their profile.
-
Pick a reason and describe what happened
Be specific. "Scammed me" is much less useful than "traded me a fake lock in world SUNSET around 8pm".
-
Block them if you want it to stop now
Blocking is instant and does not depend on us reviewing anything.
Can't report in game? Email pixelandsgame@gmail.com with the username, the world, and roughly when. Screenshots help.
Do not file false reports or mass-report someone you are in an argument with. That is itself a rule break.
What happens if you break the rules
We weigh how serious it was, whether it was deliberate, and what you have done before. A first-time chat slip and a duping ring are not the same thing and are not treated the same.
| Action | Typically for |
|---|---|
| Warning | Minor first offences |
| Mute | Chat offences, spam, mild harassment |
| Content removal / world reset | Inappropriate builds, signs or world names |
| Item or currency removal | Duped, exploited or fraudulently obtained items |
| Temporary ban | Repeat offences, scamming, exploiting |
| Permanent ban | Cheating, duping, real-money trading, serious harassment, ban evasion |
| Permanent ban and law-enforcement referral | Anything involving child safety or credible threats of violence |
Bans can apply to the account, and to the device and network used to evade them.
Appeals
If you think a punishment was wrong, email pixelandsgame@gmail.com with:
- Your username.
- What you were told the punishment was for.
- Your account of what actually happened.
We will re-check the underlying logs rather than the summary. We overturn punishments when we got them wrong, and we do it without argument when the logs say so.
We do not overturn punishments because an appeal was repeated, lengthy, or angry. Sending twenty appeals will not work and may extend the ban. Child-safety bans are not appealable.
Appeals are normally answered within 3 working days.
A note on staff
- Staff will never ask for your password.
- Staff will never ask you to trade items to them to "verify" or "duplicate" anything.
- Staff will never DM you first asking for account details.
Anyone doing any of the above is impersonating staff. Report them.
