Mining is the heart of Pixelands. Break blocks and ores with a pickaxe to collect gems and loot, dig deeper into the world, and gear up to dig faster.
How mining works
Every breakable block has a hidden amount of health. Hitting it with a pickaxe chips that health away — once it reaches zero, the block breaks and drops whatever it holds. Tougher blocks (like stone and bedrock) take more hits than soft ones (like dirt).
Pickaxes & mining gear
- Pickaxe bonus — better pickaxes deal more damage per hit, so blocks break in fewer swings.
- Speed boost — some mining gear increases your break speed on top of the pickaxe bonus.
- Gem bonus — certain gear increases the gems you collect from blocks.
No matter how strong your pickaxe is, every block still takes at least one hit — so even low-health blocks can't be broken instantly.
What you find
- Gems — the most common reward, dropped from most blocks and ores.
- Ores & fossils — special blocks deeper down drop rarer materials like fossils and eggs.
- Mob loot — some items only drop from mine mobs, not from blocks or crates.
Where to mine
You can mine anywhere you have build rights, but the best loot is in the Pixel Mines — a dedicated mining world that gets richer (and more dangerous) the deeper you go.
