Gems are the primary currency of Pixelands. You spend them in the shop, on inventory upgrades, and in trades — and you earn them by playing almost any part of the game.
Earning gems
- Mining — breaking blocks and ores drops gems; deeper mine levels and rarer blocks pay more.
- Mobs — defeating mine and tomb mobs drops loot and gems.
- Farming — harvesting grown trees yields gems, more for rarer species.
- Quests & daily tasks — completing objectives rewards gem payouts.
- Trading — sell items to other players for gems.
Gem piles
When gems drop on the ground they form a gem pile. Multiple gems on the same tile combine into a single pile shown as a set of denomination sprites — 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 — that fold upward as the total grows. Walk over a pile to collect everything on that tile at once.
Gem piles show their value through the mix of denomination sprites rather than a number, so a glance tells you roughly how much is on the ground.
Spending gems
- Shop — buy items, packs, and cosmetics from the in-game store.
- Inventory slots — expand your inventory capacity beyond the default cap.
- Player trades — gems are the common currency for deals between players.
Tips
- Mining gear with a gem bonus increases the gems you collect from blocks.
- Clear full gem piles before they're contested in busy worlds.
- Save up for inventory upgrades early — more slots makes everything easier.
